The iconic interface from Minority Report graced our screens back in 2002, but is still influencing how people think about futuristic interfaces today. As is so often the case Sci-fi predicts the future, and the gesture-based interactions on wide, flat screens which seemed so alien then are perfectly believable now.
Why we like it
When it comes to Sci-fi interfaces in films, there are a few that top our list of influences, and Minority Report is always one of them. For us the interface here is less about what it looks like and all about how it is used. The gesture-based interactions are graceful and actually help the character convey emotion when John Anderton uses it in haste.
